“Shrimp is a gateway seafood.” I learned this phrase last week when I was trying out some fabulous shrimp dishes at Fish City Grill! I can very much agree. Also, I am a serious seafood fan, I frequently urge folks to start with shrimp if they aren’t sure about fish.
Fish City Grill and sister store, Half Shells, have created a fun occasion for seafood fans to celebrate Shrimpapalooza, the restaurants’ annual seafood event. They’re spotlighting tasty shrimp dishes on their Bucket List menu. This menu includes a variety of delicious appetizers, flavorful entrees and refreshing drinks, and all of these bring a whole new meaning to the term serious seafood.
The event is going on now through October 12 at all locations, so stop by and enjoy some of the best seafood around. You can order multiple dishes or just get one, and come back another day for round 2…3…or more!
We stopped by the Preston/Royal location for a chance to sample the menu items.
Here’s a preview of what you’ll find on the Bucket List. Shrimpapalooze at Fish City Grill:
Shrimp Street Tacos: Achiote marinated shrimp, sriracha sour cream and mango salsa
Shrimp & Andouille Mac & Cheese: Shrimp and smoky Andouille sausage in homemade cheese sauce
The Bomb: Jalapeño stuffed with shrimp, cheese and bacon
Fried Green Tomatoes with Shrimp Remoulade: Cornmeal-breaded fried green tomatoes topped with shrimp remoulade
Shrimp Quesadilla: Large tortilla filled with shrimp, cheese and cilantro pesto
Raphaels Mexican Shrimp Cocktail: Shrimp, tomatoes, avocado, jicama and onions in a spicy cocktail sauce and served with tortilla chips
Shrimp Remoulad: Topped Grilled Tilapia, served with potatoes and green veggies
Drinks: The bucket list continues with the company’s popular frozen Gold Margarita and select craft beers.
Dessert: instead of cocktails we opted for dessert, because Bread Pudding! (don’t worry this isn’t a LTO item)
I haven’t decided yet which dish was my favorite. It’s a toss up between the Shrimp Quesadillas (the cilantro pesto is delish!) or the Shrimp & Andouille Mac & Cheese… because hello, cheese! Have you tried any of these items on Fish City Grill’s LTO menu?

WHAT? Shrimp & Andouille Mac & Cheese… Sounds soooo comforting and delicious! I saw the Fish City Grill in Highland park the other day when I went to Flywheel…. Now I’ve got to go try it!
