The Hospitality Sweet, a cafe with its origins in downtown Dallas has opened up a second location on Luther Lane in Preston Center. This location fits right in with the sophisticated locale of Park Cities. With its cozy decor, it’s the perfect place to slow down and enjoy their extensive breakfast, lunch and happy hour menu.
With a name like The Hospitality Sweet I expected to just find desserts on the menu. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find a decent variety of salads, soups and appetizers so I didn’t feel TOO guilty about indulging in a cake pop or 2 LOL.
I happened to visit after work around 6ish so Chef Wes Smith presented us with their Happy Hour menu, which is a selection of small bites and appetizer plates. First up was the Roasted Grapes with Walnuts, Blue Cheese and Lemon.
What a delicious appetizer, I never tasted warm grapes before but when you mix it with the bold flavors of blue cheese and lemon it all works together. A very flavorful and well put together dish.
Yummy! I just love peppers! The Shishito Pepper is a mild sweet pepper that tastes awesome when roasted or in this case blistered! The aioli sauce set it off perfectly for dipping! I happened to pair this appetizer with a Sauvignon Blanc. I was in heaven!
Never met a bowl of soup I didn’t like! That includes this HEARTY Roasted Carrot Soup. I must admit I took 3-4 spoonfuls and I was full! 3 appetizers in that didn’t include any meat and I thought I couldn’t eat anymore until Chef Wes presented the next dish.
I know I said after the soup I was full, but the meat lover in me couldn’t pass up these delicious sandwiches. My favorite by far was the Brisket and the Pastrami sandwiches. They totally hit the spot, warm, crunchy, great flavor and good bread (the key to any good sandwich).
My overall experience at The Hospitality Sweet? Just an overall great restaurant where the food is prepared with great flavor and finesse but is not fussy at all. If you are in the Park Cities area give them a try!
