bartaco is not the typical taco stand or restaurant. The new-to-Texas taco shop has a coastal vibe with a great view of the Trinity River in Fort Worth and is a place for friends to gather. And to note, bartaco is open late, so you can get your taco fix after enjoying the other bars and restaurants in the area.
Starters:
My guest and I started off with some fresh guac, roja & verde sauces and the pork tamale and chicken soup. All of it was delicious; however the chicken soup with the house made chicken stock on this rainy day was spot on! I could have licked the bowl it was that good! The food is served and prepared family style so everyone can enjoy everything.
Tacos:
At bartaco, the tacos are on the smaller side so I recommend 2-3 tacos per person. This allowed us to try a variety of different tacos, since it was our first time here. We sampled the baja fish, mojo pork carnitas, spicy chorizo, cauliflower, seared redfish, glazed pork belly and the special Lobster taco (this one is a secret menu item!). Every taco was unique in flavor and fresh made to order. My top favorite was the baja fish because of its fresh and flavorful taste.
The tacos come in tortillas but lettuce can be substituted.
The prices of each taco ranges from ($2-3).
Sides:
To go along with the street tacos we had stewed beans with pork, grilled corn on the cob with lime, cayenne, and cotija & tomato, cucumber with queso fresco. Excellent flavor in all of the sides!
Desserts:
To top off the meal we had a spiced chocolate pudding and key lime pie in a jar. Both exceeded my expectations and were a perfect way to end our meal. Other dessert items on the menu include churros and gelato.
