Most of us have heard of and visited his other ventures, Jaspers and Abacus. Chef Kent Rathbun, the man behind the new concept, Hickory, is definitely not new to the restaurant scene. He has created this new modern roadhouse specializing in burgers and barbeque sure to be a favorite for family dining or date night.
Between the cocktails, plethora of meats, sinful sides, sharable desserts served in cast iron and more cocktails.. we got a taste of many delicious, diverse offerings on the menu.
Specialty craft cocktails are always a great way to start a meal.

The meat presentation for our tasting was magical meat porn for a foodie, ESPECIALLY a meat-lover. Our sampling included: Hickory smoked turkey, St. Louis Style Pork Spare Ribs with ancho chili bbq, thinly shaved roti pork shoulder with a mustard-brown sugar glaze and smoked pepper crusted wagyu brisket. All of it was delicious but my favorite was the pork shoulder, which I enjoyed a lot! (#meatsweats) If youre a pork fan, its a must try as you dont get pork prepared like this everywhere. The sausage links which are made in-house daily are worth mentioning as well.
Eats are provided a la carte to allow you to create your own meal at a reasonable price. Why yes Ill have a side of crispy brussels sprouts with my burger. And the crispy brussels sprouts are caramelized with crispy bacon? Even. Better.
Dont worry, light eaters or health conscious peeps¦you werent overlooked. The salads were created to enjoy as an entrée or to share. Be prepared, the portion is way more than youll expect. The local goat cheese and baby beet salad is worth a try. The smoked turkey cobb is a great light option as well and you get a taste of the tender smoked turkey made in-house.
