South Side on Lamar just got even cooler. Checkered Past Winery had its soft opening last month, and will be having a Grand Opening this Saturday, December 5th, from 5-close! I was able to check out the newly renovated restaurant and try their rockstar menu!
As you can see, they have an industrial look with a comfortable atmosphere.
There’s even a peek through where you can see some wine barrels aging their favorite drinks. Most of their wines are from Texas vineyards which is great for those of us that love local. While their wine selections are amazing, their food stole the show! They are more than happy to help you pair them with the best vino, too!
These are some of their delicious dips and pita bread. My favorites the hummus.
Their olive plate goes above and beyond with the fresh mozzarella and artichoke hearts.
Their meat plate was one of my favorites as well. Here we have the prosciutto, salami, duck sausage, a few marmalades, apricots, delicious cheeses, and nuts!
Checkered Past Winery took no shortcuts when it came to preparing their wine list and their food menu. When I walked in the place I was excited to dine their because the decor makes you feel like you just want to hang out for a while and take lots of Instagram pictures.
Be sure to stop by on Saturday from 5 to close for their Grand Opening! They will be having complimentary wine, beer and appetizers while supplies last. There will also be a dj and a live band, as well as drink specials and giveaways. Not to mention a Scooter and Café Racer Show that I can’t wait to see!
