Dallas Food Nerd is always excited to try food that is new and spicy. Cynthia Smoot & I, with reservations for Chick-fil-A’s spicy breakfast, walked up to the Georgia-based chicken fast-food chain’s outpost across the street from SMU. About a minute later, we were handed a plate containing the magical new spicy biscuit along with a yogurt parfait with granola and hash browns.
The spicy biscuit revealed itself to be the same spicy chicken patty Chick-fil-A uses for lunch and dinner, minus the bun and pickles. Chick-fil-A is quite proud of its biscuits, even offering them as a menu item by itself. (Perhaps because it would crumble quickly?) The flavor of Chick-fil-A’s sacred biscuit gets masked by the chicken patty™s spiciness, as well as the crispiness of the breading.
For those unfamiliar with Chick-fil-A™s other spicy options, the chicken isn™t actually that spicy, though it does have a decent kick. As breakfast sandwiches go, the spicy chicken biscuit is a good bet. What do you think? Can you take the heat early in the morning? 🙂 If you can’t, why not enjoy their Banana Pudding Milkshake, only offered for a limited-time! I like mine with a little chocolate syrup.
(Tim Hawkins gives you a friendly reminder: Chick-fil-A is not open on Sundays.)
