For chocoholics like me, even the parade of sweets over the holidays hasnt curbed the appetite for chocolatey goodness. If that sounds like you, too, then Julie Hasson’s 125 Best Chocolate Chip Recipes cookbook is one you should check out. I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book, and I’m glad I had a chance to review it, because its recipes are a great mix of interesting but easy-to-make treats.
My favorite thing about this book is that the recipes are creative and varied. I’ve already got about 20 of them flagged as must-try recipes. Sure, theres your Quintessential Chocolate Chip Cookie (because who can go wrong with that?) but this book also has recipes like Eggnog Chocolate Chip Tea Cake, Chocolate Tiramisu, and Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Loaves, which all sound amazing and would be sure to impress at any event. But its not all cakes and cookies. The variety of options “ shakes, muffins, scones, bars, ice creams, puddings “ means recipes that work for breakfast or dessert, casual gatherings or more formal dinners.
What also makes this book great is that these recipes are largely simple, fast and easy to follow. For example, Chocolate Stuffed Scones. Sounds fancy, right? But these were quite easy to make and they tasted like a dream! And I say that as someone who knows good scones. They also received the coveted Coworker Seal of Approval.
So, chocolate lovers, if youre looking for fun and different chocolate chip recipes, this is a great cookbook for you. As for me, I think I have a date with Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding with Irish Cream before this week is out.
