Joining the ranks of Plano, Allen and Dallas, the newest CRÚ Food and Wine Bar has made its way west, to Fort Worth. Situated in the posh Shops At Clearfork, the bar is sure to make for a great outing for you and your Crú.
Dallas Food Nerd was a participant in a tasting which was broken down into five courses. The first course included a scrumptious Lobster and Shrimp Potsticker paired with Ahi Tuna Tartare and Steorra Brut NV. The brut is made from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and seamlessly complimented the seafood selections.
Chef Josh Rangel outdid himself with a tender New Zealand Lamb Lollipop in the second course. The lollipop was served with lemon and herb greek yogurt, pickled red onions and mint, as well as a Fig and Gorgonzola Crostini with a balsamic reduction. The crunchy crostini was a great contrast from the delicate lollipop.
The third course included a cast-iron seared scallop dressed in a charred creamed corn. The scallops were delicate yet plump and cooked to perfection. The rich citrus notes of the Cakebread Chardonnay created a perfect partnership with the scallops in this serving.
Course four delivered with a filet mignon medallion and mixed greens salad. The juicy filet was plated with Foie Gras butter and created a perfect French segue to the Chataeau St. Julian red blend from Bordeaux, France, which rounded out the this course.
The fifth and final course was a sweet treat in the form of a goat cheese beignet. The goat cheese was creamy and mild as it was coupled with Texas peaches and blueberries. The pastry contained a luscious exterior, which was absolutely pleasant to eat with the goat cheese.
