“What’ll ya have?”
This is a line I’ve never actually heard a bartender use, but it’s still what pops into my head when I envision one. I’m not talking about the guys and gals behind the counter at the local dance club serving up cotton-candy, pineapple upside-down pie, margaritatini’s that leave you wondering if there is actually alcohol in them at all. The bartender in my head is the guy standing behind a long, time-worn, wooden bar with a smile on his face and a plethora of mixology knowledge in his head.
If there is anyone who understands my pain, it’s got to be the guys over at Craft Cocktails Texas. They’ve put together an event that I am super excited about and I can’t wait to see how it goes down. Dallas Cocktail Week is running from Thursday, June 14th to Sunday, June 17th and includes plans for awesome parties, tasting rooms, educational sessions, happy hours, and a huge competition with the United State’s Bartenders Guild on Saturday.
Craft cocktails are making their way back into favor with local speakeasy’s and bartenders who are bringing back the beauty and sophistication of a good drink, and I for one, couldn’t be happier. Check out more info about the event on Craft Cocktails Texas’ website and if your interested in winning tickets to their awesome Kick-off party at The Stoneleigh Hotel on Thursday and the USBG Competition and Festival at Main Street Gardens, check out the Dallas Food Nerd Facebook Page and enter to WIN!
I hope you’ll come join us and have a drink with us!
