Of course Texas is known for its BBQ, but what southerner doesnt also love some home style fried chicken? While there are a number of upscale fried chicken restaurants in the area, Dallas now has a new option for quick service fried chicken.
Texas legend, Golden Chick has brought its Original Golden Tenders and famous, fresh yeast rolls to its newest location right here in its home nest of Dallas located at Highway 75 and Meadow.
Golden Chick is best known for its fried chicken and chicken tenders, but its hot yeast rolls are probably the best comfort food Ive ever tasted. We had been working with Golden Chick for a while before I was able to try these rolls the team was talking about (I mean its just bread, right?). Wrong. The texture and honey butter taste were a little addicting “ thank goodness it wasnt swimsuit season!
You can order your food to go (a weekend habit for watching football at home) using its new double drive-thru lanes or dine-in with the perks of a free soft serve vanilla ice cream cone for dessert. And, if you cant get enough of the aforementioned yeast rolls (who can?), serving staff periodically come through the dining room to offer an extra fresh roll for free.
Other southern favorites include roasted chicken, battered French fries, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn on the cob, fried okra, dirty rice, mac and cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, and fruit salad. They also have some lesser-known menu items like golden corn nuggets (dollops of corn battered and fried to deliciousness), popular jalapeno poppers and chicken salad.
The new location just opened, located at 10443 N. Central Expressway. For more information, visit www.goldenchick.com.
*Disclaimer: Golden Chick is a client, however, with food this good I love having the excuse to get my fried chicken fill.
