Pure deLite, the only guilt-free cupcakery in the DFW metroplex, unveiled a new holiday cupcake flavor last week during National Cupcake Day (Dec. 15). This delicious cupcake called Yuletide Cheer is just 250 calories and is available only until January 1, 2013. Yuletide Cheer is a vanilla-based cupcake made with organic eggnog frosting and is low sugar and low fat.
This is Christmas in a cupcake! said Lily Galvan, the stores general manager. She also recommended eggnog lovers should definitely taste this cupcake before its gone.
I stopped by Pure deLite in Carrollton (off Hebron Parkway) to sample a few of the seasonal cupcakes and other favorite flavors in the store. Pure deLite bakes more than 140 cupcake varieties with gluten-free, vegan, reduced fat and reduced sugar ingredients.
The holiday favorites include Gingerbread, Thinner Mint, White Chocolate Peppermint, Eggnog, Pumpkin, Hot Chocolate, Pecan Pie, Sno-Cap and Snow Ball (all under 300 calories!).
What I like about this cupcakery, other than its desserts being low-cal, is that the cupcake options change every week. Five different flavors are offered each week in addition to the stores three every day cupcakes (the original, chocolate delite and vanilla delite). Also, all cupcakes sell for just $2.75 each. Its a tasty dessert option for anyone and everyone.
