I may lose my native Dallasite card by admitting that last week was my first experience of Opening Day. I’ve heard about all the festivities, food, beer, and music that go into Opening Day but it wasn’t until I saw it for myself that I got the real picture.
The folks at Modelo invited us to come out and join them just outside the ballpark for tacos and beer as part of their #TourdeSabor at Opening Day. A few food nerds along with DFW’s number one sports fans had the opportunity to sample Modelo Especial, Negra Modelo, and Micheladas paired with carnitas tacos. If you’ve followed any of Dallas Food Nerd’s channels for longer than 3 minutes you know that we LOVE us some tacos and beer. But, chances are you’ve been missing out on beer infused tacos! Yes, that’s worth repeating, Modelo brought out a food truck to serve the pre-gamers Modelo-infused Carnitas Tacos.
As you can imagine they were a big hit.
This was also my first experience with Modelo’s micheladas. WIth just the perfect amount of spice, they were a great complement to the fresh chips and salsa we snacked on all afternoon*.
Overall we had a great time with Modelo at Opening Day for #TourdeSabor. Thanks to everyone who came out to join us for beer, micheladas and delicious Modelo-infused tacos.
