👨🎤👩🎤 On Saturday, November 10 2018 the Perot Museum is doing it again – even bigger and even better. Their annual fundraising gala is taking place with the theme “Rock the Perot”. We love this even because all proceeds raised go towards STEM access for North Texas kids. From rock star impersonators, crystal tattoos and fiber-optic hair, to glitzy gems, edible art tables, and an iridescent after-party, Night at the Museum will have you partying like pop stars!
🎸🖼 Rock the night away! The Perot Museum of Nature and Science will host its annual Night at the Museum soiree “ themed Rock the Perot “ on Saturday, Nov. 10. With proceeds supporting STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education in North Texas, the event will feature a VIP backstage rock star pre-party, rock star impersonators, crystal tattoos, glam-rock makeup, live entertainment, post-party dancing and more. Wolfgang Puck Catering will present a rock-the-palate spread of edible art, delectable bites (with a beat!), rocky soil wines and craft cocktails.
🎉💠 Event co-chairs are Heather and Chris Gilker and Linda and Ken Wimberly, and honorary chairs are Fallon and Robie Vaughn. Presenting sponsors are Lyda Hill and Margot and Ross Perot.
🕺💃 Follow our social channels as we will be capturing all the fun starting with the VIP party at 6 pm. Dallas Food Nerd will also attend the iridescent after-party as it will feature live music by the Georgia Bridgwater Orchestra from 9 p.m.-midnight – no way we’ll miss that!
🤤😋 The food you ask? Oh, the food! This is what Perot Museum says about what we can expect: Sustenance and sips will include food landscapes showcasing local grapefruit and lychee granite with baked meringue snow; charcoal beef short rib with Okinawa potatoes and aromatic top vegetables; rock lobster with sauce americaine, saffron croquette and paysanne winter roots; house-smoked Coho salmon “everything” macaron with fine herb smear and chive blossoms; edible Rock N Geode; and Pop Rocks yuzu ice cream pops, just to name a few. Attendees will even see the sound waves of musical rhythms moving through their food!
👩🔬⚗️ Guests can rock their bodies in the new Being Human Hall, explore the mysteries and science behind nature™s gems and minerals, and encounter prehistoric rock stars from below the equator at the Ultimate Dinosaurs traveling exhibition. Other rockin™ highlights will include Makey Makey jam sessions, geode cracking, a giant kaleidoscope, muscle dissections, body-morphing mirrors, color chemistry and more.
🎟🎟 With over 1,000 guests expected to attend, Night at the Museum is guaranteed to be a great time. For more details and to buy your tickets, go to perotmuseum.org/NATM.
🧒🏻🧒🏼 We hope you’ll join us at this great event — proceeds from the annual Night at the Museum gala will support the Museum™s mission to inspire minds through nature and science by funding educational programming, student scholarships, Museum operations, traveling exhibitions and impactful research and that’s something us food nerds can get behind. See you there!
📹🤓 P.S. Check out their recap video from last year to get a taste of what you can expect this year. There are a few fellow food nerds that made a cameo, see if you spot them.
